The Guide to Buying an Ointment Plant Machine

One of the many machines that a pharmaceutical company uses in its day-to-day operations is the ointment manufacturing plant. They’re also used in the cosmetic industry. These machines are perfect for the production of homogenizations, ointments, emulsions, toothpastes, creams, lotions, among others. For easy cleaning, efficient use of agitators and ease in maintenance; the horizontal blade and specially designed anchor are placed horizontally to ensure that the mixing is done effectively along with the shearing action of the homogenizer, which becomes very important when one is working with viscous products.
The main physical components of an ointment plant machine are as follows:
  • An electric control panel board with all the necessary controls
  • Manufacturing vessel and agitators with flush bottom valve
  • A digital indicator on the panel that monitors the product temperature
  • A water/wax phase vessel with a fast speed stirrer mounted on the side
  • Spray ball on top cover for cleaning the main vessel
  • Conical filter and flush bottom valve
  • Pneumatic lift for manufacturing
  • Manufacturing vessel that comes with a fast speed emulsifier fitted with mechanical seal and a double speed anchor
Here is how the working of the machine happens, as outlined by those dealing with the industry of ointment manufacturers plant in India:
  1. In a wax phase vessel, all waxes and oils are dissolved separately.
  2. Aqueous phase materials are added processed separately in another water phase vessel.
  3. These phase vessels are jacketed and supplemented with motor driven propeller type of agitators which help in mixing thoroughly.
  4. Once these phases are ready, they are passed to the main ointment manufacturing vessel through their respective opening valves. Filters and pipelines are created due to the vacuum that is formed within the main vessel with the help of a pump. It is through these that the transfer takes place.
  5. The main ointment manufacturing vessel comes with an anchor type of stirrer that has Teflon scrapper at the ends and an agitator that is driven by dual speed motor.
  6. Proper emulsification of the ointment is ensured by a built-in high-speed emulsifier.
  7. There is a bump pump present which transfers the finished product to storage vessels.
  8. The transfer to the filling hoppers from the storage vessels is possible due to reciprocating metering pumps at the appropriate rate.
  9. There are special scrappers attached to enable the transfer of the complete product without wastage.
An ideal ointment manufacturing machine should have the following features:
  • Loading and unloading of semi-solid products should be easy.
  • The structure should be such that it enables efficient cleaning.
  • It should also be compatible for the dry mixing of products.
  • The machine should be highly durable.
  • It must be customisable as per the client’s requirements.
  • They must demand minimum maintenance and all of that should be cost effective.
  • An automatic rotating facility must be present because it reduces manpower and consequently the expenditure.
  • None of the machines must not take a lot of time to deliver high quality results.
  • There are a lot of such machines available in the market so make sure to purchase the ones that are manufactured with the most advanced technology.
